Once you get past the "NEATO" factor what is it good for?

It is HiTechs personal plane in real life and it was made for the Con this year. What's it good for?? Were you online that night we flew them at the con? The whining was PRICELESS:rofl  That's what it is good for. I wish it was available in all the arenas. It was for a short time in the MWA and I got a couple of proxie kills in it I was able to land. That was priceless too, getting people to try and turnfight that thing on the deck....oppps look out for that tree:D  Makes a good spotter plant too.

It was created for the con.Your "neato" factor was only supposed to last a few hours for the con. The only reason we have it now is probally because theres no reason for us not to have it, instead of being wasted and not used again.

It could be a possible trainer plane for newcomers, just to get used to flying and not giving up their first time, althou some of em should give up after 1 / 2 flights...

As far as a trainer for newcomers.........

Would it not make sence to start them off in a WW2 aircraft that they will be flying in sim-combat than a modern a/c that has nothing to do with the era AH represents?

The dynamics and performance of the aircraft can be set for any level the programers of HTC like - would not a "easy" version of one of our aircraft work better for the newcomers before turning them loose with a real "Warbird"? (This really isn't a bad idea all in all). Plus it would negate building a whole new A/C. Besides most people that join AH I imagine want to fly WW2 AIRCRAFT.

As for the Rv8............

It's Hitech's company and I guess he can pretty much make anything he wants to. I am all for new aircraft, new vehicles, new gizmo's to use with the aircraft and for the development of AH which I love. I have been flying for 5 years + and been a CM in the old Combat Theater which I spent my own time to try and make AH better.

Still I think it looks kind of funny when all us loyal players that pay our $14.95 a month and beg and plead for new aircraft and vehicles or modifications to existing A/C see a "Modern Sport Plane" come out first.

But that is just my opinion.......

The RV8 didn't just come out. It's been around for a long time. In the past it's been Hitech's personal play thing. He just decided to share with the rest of us. Personally I think it's cool. Gets my juices flowing and motivates me to go back out in the shop and keep building on my own RV8.
