« on: September 20, 2001, 03:59:00 PM »
I've added memory to my PC upping from 256 to 512mo and since  I've a lot of CTD in AH.
What should I track ? and where should I search ?
Under photoshop the PC is Ok I've trouble just with AH  :(
Can it be AGP related ?

im taking it u got 2 sticks of 256 ram now?
try takng out the new ram and see if the CTDs occur if not...
take the old stick out and just put the new stick in if CTDs return u have a dodgey stick of ram that would be my first suggestion let me know if it doesnt solve ya probs and we can go from there..

I've the trouble only after crossing the 256Meg barrier ... I'm not the Yeager of memory
IE I put only the new 256Meg ram : no CTD
my old 2*128 : no ctd
128+256 = ctd
256+128 = ctd
128+128+256 = ctd ...

I will try with other NBugia drivers and other AGP settings ...

Greets straffo..

Important, the largest simm has to go into the 1st slot. Then theres a lot of little things to do. Ill explain a bit.

I upgraded my RAM from 2 128meg sims and added a 256meg. Total memory was 512k. But i was getting CTD in AH and wwiionline. I touched no other part in my system. By chance i figured i would clean out all my Video drivers and reinstall them. This worked (sort of). I remembered someone mentioning a link to a program that deletes all Nvidia regestries. Found it, removed all Nvidia regestries and boom, AH & wwiionline now run fine.

No idea why an upgrade to RAM would need a clean install of my Video drivers, but thats what it took to get everything running.

Also after adding RAM i had one reboot happen on its own. This has not happened since Video drivers where reinstalled.

Dog out.........
