Roach:
Many people look up to the game creator and are very trusting
If this was the case, then we would never have done the troll. We made a simple statement in the read me about the f4u1c. Kev instantly took it as the sky is falling in his first post about it. Obviously he wasn't very trusting. To play into that, we posted a totally over the top post about what the perk ord was going to be. And yes we were trying to bait the non trusting ones. Because the trusting ones read it, and knew instantly that it was a troll.
Because no mater what we post as to why, how or what. Lots of people will just believe what they wish to believe. In fact you are playing right into that stereo type.
And btw we posted what it really was not that long after the troll.
Lets take a few instance lately.
1. On the new arena system we get condemned for not announcing it until we actually released it.
2. Now on something that we view as not really changing anything other than how something is structured, the out come would be exactly the same., I.E. perk ord. system.
We get a lot of people who think the sky is falling again, long before we even release it. People who wish to believe we are against them, go over the edge like you did on an issue.
And as to the myth busting, there are myths around that I have been posting on for years and years, guess what they are still here, look at humbles thread about collisions.
Some people still think you get perks if you switch sides just before a reset.
Some people think that buff guns are different than other guns.
Some people think that buff guns all converge magically tracking a plane.
Some people think, like you, that we are against base capture.
And then the biggest myth of all, that we do not listen to our customers.
I would bet if I tried hard, I could find at least 500 changes that were a direct result of a request by a customer. People tend to think, just because we disagree with there suggestion, we do not listen. Nothing could be further from the truth. But for you it is just a game. For me it is really my life long work. Who do you think has more at stake when judging what should and should not be implemented.
However, other planned changes which have yet to be implemented, but are planned, do concern me a great deal. I would caution Hi Tech to speak to his paying customer base, and not simply go on the opinions expressed here in a very biased forum community.
Some people think we are swayed by the vocal minority.
All off these are just complete fiction.
Well guess what roach, while I do try to keep the myths at bay, the posting of the troll in this case, with the follow up, does more good keeping the myths at bay, then a straight forward response would have.
I could go on and on and on and on about the myths that are not even close to the way things are. But guess what ,the myths will always remain, almost as if I never said anything about them.
