...New powers for councils to impose parenting orders are expected to be announced in the Queen's Speech tomorrow.

Part of Mr Blair's 'Respect Agenda', they extend current powers for courts to instruct parents of children who commit crimes to attend parenting classes.

Mrs Hughes' parenting workforce will include local council social workers who are likely to have the new powers...

Unfortunately there are many people here in the US that need help. They thought it was a great idea to get married and breed , until they realized it was'nt all it was cracked up to be. They lose interest, the kids are losers, and we all have to deal with them later in life.

I find it ironic that given the advances in psychology and child rearing from "experts" the results seem to be far less stable than the "olden days".

I know I'm not expressing it well but the new methods just don't seem to be doing as well given the displays of lack of control for many on the youngest generation now, compared to those say raised in the 50's and 50's.

lol, we even have 'super-nanny' on TV once a week. a SN goes to bad childs house and generally makes the parents look really stupid and clueless, being as patronising as possible, whilst thinking somehow that because the small child is scared of her and does what she says, she has god given supernatural nanny powers and a gift for childcare. Despite thee fact she is 30+, single, and far too ugly to ever breed.

britain has been a nanny state for a long time now, but its so small a piece of rock we all crammed onto here, its obvious why we have the highest density of cctv cameras in the world. If you took all the people involved with running britain and made them hold hands, they could reach from west to east coast at the most narrow point....probably.
