F4U-1A Appearance at Range
« on: November 30, 2006, 01:24:04 AM »
Anyone else get a white "ghosting" appearance for a F4U-1A at a distance?  From my cockpit, they look like they have a white border around the plane at anywhere beyond about 800 range.

yes. I noticed that the day that plane came out. I now notice it for the F4U-1 and F4U-1D as well. it must have something to do with the new hog models, not just the F4U-1A specifically.

I think all the corsairs have that white border. It be best to submit this to the bug forums so HTC can see it. They probably already know, but they might not.

I just wanted to make sure it wasn't the lack of sleep causing it before I submitted it...

It's the same kind of thing as the 'twinkle' you get when looking at a P38, P51 or P47 at long range.

It seems every f4u1a i've encountered has their gear down. Is that a bug or are they doing it on purpose? And yes, I do know the history and uses of the f4 gear being used as a speed brake.....I just can't recall ever fighting one of the new "A" models w/out them having the gear down.
