Any help appreciated on tweaking this board. Do I leave the Hypertransport BUS alone and use the Jumperfree Configuration settings only?

Ta!

I have the non-deluxe one. I did play with overclocking it a bit but I could only get about 6-7% overclock without crashing on t he CPU... what CPU are you using?

Also make sure you've got really good RAM with 2 or 2.5 latency and nice fast, unfragmented hard drives.

Remember that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and a computer is as fast as its slowest component.

Corsair Ram rated at cas2. I am aware that timings may have to be looser.

I have just put in an x2 4800 in the board with a Good third party cooler and it runs 40 degrees or less under lload. I'm not a huge fan f overclocking but willing to give it a try.

Old days you just upped the FSB, but this board is more complex than that.

BIOS is latest (1016). Its fast enough but i'd like to get it running at 2.6ghz.

I would feel I'd taken a s 939 board about as far as its ever going to go then!

I'd use the presets...  I've forgotten the exact settings, but the manual is really an overclocker's dream.

I thought I would dig overclocking my machine, but decided I just wanted it to work well and not have to worry about it melting down (I leave it on 24-7) when I'm not at home.

Good luck.

Also cool monitoring program (the asus one kinda sucks): http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

the bios is kinda tricky on it ... you have to overvolt the core to get it to OC decently  but dont expect too much .. I cant seam to get my 3700+ at work to go over 2.9 ghz and stay stable on that board ...

you have to turn off the overvolt protection to oc this board .

Here this should help ya ... there tons of threads in there that will help.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll have a go with the presets. Like I say I'm not that convinced by overclocking as a rule but, hey what the hell:D

If games are 20 FPS faster at 2.6 ghz as opposed to 2.4 I'll eat my hat mind you

TT big typhoon is great! Water cooling is best for OCin'... If you get water cooling remember this "You get what you pay for".  If you get apos and springs a leak your screwed....

Screw Speenfan lol bad program get Everest= teh pwnar....

IMHO DFI is best for overclocking...

Btw id go with Danger Den if you go water cooling. If you want kit go with Swiftech Inc. gear bit pricey but worth every penny...

Good luck!

I am using a P5N32-SLI-Deluxe.  I am overclocking a Pent D805 to 4.0Gig with an aftermarket air cooler also.

I did all my overclocking in the "Jumperfree config"  Every increase in CPU clock also Increased Ram clock.

Thermaltakes compression fittings are alot better then the spring/zip clamps on the dangerden stuff ... and the price for a good water set up is 50% cheaper  .
the adv of DD set up is it starts out at 1/2 inch tubing vs TT's 3/8s .
The TT setup is more finished for a cleaner install vs the DD  which is kinda raw peice together setup like my home made water setup .

to go extreame with any water setup its best to use a 2 liter reservoir  added to anyones setup .    the adv of water is less fan noise , less fans , and better  cpu, vga cooling with out having a heavy bulky heatsink /fan trying to shead heat in a hot case .
