I've seen the commercial and what struck me was the selection of music for it.  Very odd but somehow fitting...

The music helped win me over. If I ever get a chance to own a 360 while in the Navy that will be the first game I buy. It looks to me as its going to be the Halo of the 360. Halo 3 should be announced soon.

I hope some day that the guys at sony and microsoft enables keyboard and mouse gaming on their consoles so you can hook it up AND play it pretty much like a pc. I doubt we will see it tho.

I never liked using a hand controller, but if i did then this game would be on my list for sure.

It's an old Tears for Fears tune. Probably activated some old memory. I had it in my head for days till I figured out what song it was.

Yes.  It's been redone by a guy named Gary Jules.  This song was also featured in the film Donny Darko which may have been why it was chosen for this commercial.  I honestly don't remember the Tears for Fears version.  I even looked it up on Amazon but it didn't strike any memories...-although I have to say that the Gary Jules version is far superior.

The song was called "mad world" and I don't remember it but it was a more upbeat tune when they (tears for fears) played it.

You can hear it on Jule's myspace site, click on it in the player

EDIT:

Here's the Tears for fears version

I like Jules' better.

Personally I thought it was REM that sang the song at first.

One of my grandkids already has it. I saw it at the beginning of November. He was playing it on a very big screen TV. The graphics were nice but the controler issue is really clunky on the game. I suppose if that style of controller is all you know it's OK but even the kids (13 / 14 years old) were having trouble with the functions on the controller. It was neat seeing the split screen with an over under format. Good field of view but the background graphics were so "busy" it's hard to spot the enemy. The AI didn't seem very "intelligent" either with the bad guys doing a lot of rolling back and forth even before combat.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

It looks awesome, but any game with 50 feet tall bugs / fairies / ogres or other fantasy creatures will not be played by me.

It's a fun game to play. It has a flavor of it's own. The difficulty is not over the top. The "take cover" interface is a bit weird at first, but u get used to it quick. The graphics, and the general atmophere is great. The weapons are standard, except the Locust bow. It shoots an explosive arrow, that plants to a wall next to you with a distinctive "STING!". Sound alarm that you got lucky not to get it explode in your body, but u still have to kiss the ground.

There's plenty of stuff to hide dehind for cover, enabling the coolest feature of the game, blind shooting dehind cover.

This game is made to be played by two players co-op. If you don't have a friend available split screen or via XBL, the game will assign you an AI. The AI will carry his share of the monster bashing, but is also very dumb at time.

It's not a game for kids, the language is mild with a lot of "S***", and a rare "F***". The chainsaw usage, althrough awsomely satisfying, is not a sight for kids.

A another good feature of the game is that when u run out of ammo for your conventional weapons, you can pull your handgun, and your chainsaw for some fun "I'm not going to go down like a sucker survival action ... and actually make it.

Not a first shooter fan here, but got sucked in playing it and did not regret the buy.

I've seen those before, a mouse / KB mod for those hook to the tv games.
