Do I have to set up a new handle or can I go with my old Stockli?

Cant wait to get back into it, although with a temporary stick it will be interesting!

Send an e-mail or call HTC (if e-mail send to billing@ ) and ask them to free up your old gameID so that you can choose it again. They're pretty helpful with this situation, as it happens a lot :)
