Since last Friday I've been getting "Lost UDP switch to TCP" followed shortly by "host lost connection". This has NEVER been a problem for me before. I thought it had something to do with Automatic Updates, as I noticed an update for IE 7.0 on that very same day, I have gone as far as turning off Auto Updates and installing FSAutostart and messin with it. Still as of today I'm still getting disoced quite frequently.

System:
AMD Athlon 3200+
1024mb DDR400 RAM
80gb HD
eVGA nforce4 SLI MB
eVGA 6600GT video

HELP PLZ
:(

Did you try running a traceroute or PingPlot to the servers and see if it was Internet related?  Been a very wide spread issue with the net lately.

easiest way to do it is http://www.pingplotter.com - its a freeware download that you can use to trace an IP or a net adress. For the IPs of the MA servers check the stickies in this Forum. Pingplotter gives you options to either save as picture or to save as text (which you then can just paste into your post with CTRL V)

Other option is to START > RUN > cmd - and tracert from there.
21 is only half the truth.

Yes, and the problems are in Level3 (Washington) it appears.  Shoot a copy of this to your ISP, as they are using Level3 for thier Tier 1 transport.

another question: I'm using windows firewall, with aces high as an excption, would i have to reset that with new versions of AH, when using windows built in firewall?

Also any idea why this would start happening out of the blue like this? Like I said this has NEVER been a problem before. Kinda strange.

With any software based firewall (that I know of), you will have to re-allow Aces High (aceshigh.exe) back through the firewall each time we patch it.

The Internet changes all the time.  Routes change quite frequently.  Your ISP may have brought up a new connection to Level3, or decided Level 3 would thier primary feed or someone could have injected a bad route.

This stuff happens every single day on the Internet.

Well, ISP sent a "tech" out,  tested connection says it's a "super fast, very good connection", switched out my cable modem just incase, all to no avail.
Still gettin"lost udp, switch to tcp/ip" followed by "host lost connection". :(

The problem is not your local connection.  The problem lies in the Level3 network, which your ISP is using for Tier 1 transport to/from the Internet.

Sending a tech out was silly.  The problem has to be addressed by the network engineers at the ISP.  They have to file a trouble ticket with Level3.

Oh, for what it is worth, everyone traversing Level3 is having problems.
