GV suggestion from a non-GV'er

Currently, when the turret orientation is off from the hull azimuth, I have trouble knowing just how far off it is, which is long way around and which is quickest to realign. I tend to use the map's icon and switch between driver and gunner...which is awkward.

Then I remembered seeing interior pictures of turrets from the era...and I seem to recall that many had compass degrees marked on the turret ring, so it was easy to tell where you were pointing relative to the direction of travel.

Could this be implemented, either graphically (more work) or by Coading with a green number display like we see ammo counts now?

Could put in almost the aircraft compass.  All you would need to add is a green arrow for direction of travel.

Nice idea Sim.

Greetings,

I think the Turret Azimuth Indicator was standard on, at least, US tanks prior to the introduction of the M1.  Was not a compass, just gave degrees with 0 degrees being forward.

Was used to build range cards and for targeting during periods of limited visability (night, fog, snow or in conjunction with a searchlight tank).

In addition, we should be able to have our 'head' sticking out of the turret and use either a TC overide to rotate and lay the main gun or 'talk' to the gunner to lay the gun on a target / orient it with the hull.

Regards,

B-17 ball turrets have an indicator.
shouldnt be too hard to put one in tank turrets.
