Need some speakers...
« on: December 08, 2006, 03:28:36 PM »
Just finished mounting my 42" lcd above my fireplace.  Now I need some good speakers that DO NOT require an amplifier, if they make them.  Kind of like good PC speakers.

THnx

All depends on your budget dude. They make anything for any price, but you have to look for what fits. All the sound nazis here will say to spend 5k or more on a system, but I say, go to different stores and listen to what sounds good. don't listen to price, or deals, or anything like that, listen to your ears and take what you like... but do your home work!!!  Remember, if it's not exactly what you want, you can still EQ it to how you want it to sound, I spent half what everybody recommended and still get wows about how realistic my system sounds. (Actually, less than half, but it's nice to tease overspenders =) ).

How do you like the 901's?  I heard bose was overpriced and underperformed?  But never actually had any experience with them.  BTW, 42" sharp aquos, best buy, 1899.00.  (on sale).  It was 2499 at americn and 2299 at circuit city.  Its fricken awesome .  Watched Alien last night.  Cant wait for super bowl.:D

I have a Bose 5 speaker system, love it.

I got it all separately off of ebay, rather than pay the extortionate price for Bose new, delighted with the results.

my 901's i got half price, but they are incredible. I have them placed in my corners, and my ceiling is angled so they reflect so much everything just sounds so full & expanded.
concerts sound the best, as if the crowd was really all around.
