#1 Gameplay.  If not for missions, strategic goals, tactical options, ability to simulate WWII fights to some degree, and fog of war, this just becomes another FPS of sorts.  Up and fight, up and fight.

#2 Flight modeling, so long as it is kept to pretty much one standard across the planeset, I'm happy.  Still see some planes do things *I* don't think they should be capable of sometimes, so some players probably "gaming the game", but that is ANY MMOG..... you accept it and move on, or give yourself an ulcer over it.

#3 Graphics.... I'll take higher graphics, so long as the load if client-side.  Be too much a problem if it is server-side, considering Frame Rate issues some folks experience, not to mention unintentional warping and discos.  Each player can set graphics to what he wants and can handle on their system.

What is AHII, 600 MB?  Most of my games are in the 2 to 5 GB range.  Although, the maps in most of the senerios and such look fantastic compared to the war arenas..... the winter maps, the airfields, the large cities.

Flight modelling.

The learning curve is what hooked me.   The pilot makes the difference.  It's not just who has the best plane or who has the alt advantage.  It's gives us something to work toward.  It doesn't matter how long you have played, there always seems to be something (plane, tactic, teamwork, etc) that you can improve on and get satisfaction from improving on it.

It's all as important as the one before it.

Gameplay, easily 1sy priority. Without good gameplay this game would be collecting virtual dust with the dozens of other one on the shelf.

Regarding graphics...while there are many boxed sims that exceed AH in that department none of them have the constraints of supporting hundreds of simultaneous human players....and Dale/Doug have come a long way since this picture of "me" circa 1996 was taken.

(BTW...the FM of the WB1.x P40 was uber!)

You've just made it painfully obvious that you have no idea wtf you are talking about in regards to game programming. No offence, mate, but yeah.

I have just 2 hrs flight time so have no idea what our planes fly like let alone a 2 min dogfight bull chit.

Graphics are OK is.  Have seen worse and played an other sim where guys fought in 2D and 3D.  You still could shoot people done.  Just looked prettier in 3D

GAMEPLAY is key

flight model

the thing that makes this game fun for me is the variance in plane ability

"how am i gonna kill this ki 84 in my spit"

or

"whats the best way to approach these bombers in my hurri2c"

every encounter is different and without that it might as well be just a bunch of spixteens.

Why, head on, on the runway, or gang him.
