With the exception of socialist germany, it's true. Us american's shot many of our own industries in the foot for the sole purpose of rebuilding german industry.

hardly. the us had to slow down it's massive industrial war production and shift their efforts towards the administration of rebuilding efforts which american companies made PLENTY on.
