I take it you have a gameport device?

There are some hardware adapters you can buy but they may not give you all the functions the hardware has. They are good for convertion of basic sticks and throttles with only a few buttons.

I explored converting my own CH gameport set to USB and the nearest thing I found was a chip I could buy to rewire the whole lot for USB use. However it did not have any software and simply left you with a windows device with around 7 analogue functions and up to 32 buttons. Problems such as getting key held down commands seemed a headache to get over. Although if contemplating only using in AH that may not be a problem!

The Chip with a small PCB (and really you need it to wire to) cost around 30 dollars plus shipping.

All in all, not much use except for someone making a dedicated system that is not very flexible. Below is the Url - It has been referred to before in here.

                                thanks,

The adapters to convert to USB will only give you maybe 3 axises and a few buttons.  You will not be able to use any of the program features of the HOTAS.

It would be good to know what chipset the stick has.  If you have the digital StickWorks chip set, you will have nearly the program features of the Cougar.  If you have the stock chips, it will be much more dificult to setup.  The digital chips only require the joystick port plug.  The stock chips will need you to connect the mouse and keyboard through the stick to use any program functions.  If you open the box, the IC should have a sticker on it.  It's been some time since I had mine open so I don't remember what it looks like.  BTW, it is in use on one of my PCs now.  I just added a joystick port that was an optional addon to my motherboard, or you can use an older soundcard that has a joystick port.

If your looking for posts similar you yours, you will find some information here:

For software, I see some downloads at StickWorks:

The StickWorks

Programing software looks like it is still available at FlyFoxy:

FlyFoxy

I see lots of good information here on Jame's Thrustmaster FAQ:
