Anti-Stutter ; how can I remove modem icon from systay?
« on: December 07, 2000, 12:29:00 PM »
I should have read that FAQ first. But I didn't know what I was facing is called 'stutter'.

After reinstalled Windows as a last ditch (and failed), at last I found out that 'dial-up status icon' on systray(taskbar) makes the stutter.

To check that, I have forced explorer(the windows shell) to restart. (familir 'explorer crash') and new task bar with no dial-up status, AH worked just fine. very fine.

... Why that Icon does not go off even I 'uncheck' the 'status icon' option on the connection setup?

Everytime I play AH, I do CTRL-ALT-DEL, then select Explorer to stop.

Is there any other way that I can remove the 'modem-status icon' from systray?

...  oh. and one more, why that small little green light on and off icon... never made a stutter before, but now, with DX8, it makes so terrible stutters ... why!!

Any help/comment would be very helpful! thanks.

tired,

tailight

You did try this?...

Double Click on 'My Computer', Double Click on 'Dial up Networking', Click on 'Connections' (at top of screen), Click on 'Settings' Ensure that there is not a check beside 'Show an Icon on Taskbar after Connected'
