thats a stupid analogy, Iraq is not and never has been or will be a colony of the USA, if the Iraqs were smart they would stop killing each other for a little wile then the bad mean USA troops will go home and they can start killing each other again.

Well lazs I guess I am just stupid .

I keep seeing that Brits going though the woods getting attacked by the Colonials , and see our troop convoys going down a road and getting car bombed etc .

The Brits could take over a city but they didn't control the country by anymeans . Sounds alot like Iraq to me , guess I am stupid then .

I still wonder why we won and they lost . I mean the Brits then had the best army I figure in the world at the time .

Ya I guess I could be that stupid .

england was fighting the colonials, france, spain, and holland at that time, the people of england were tired of the war and tired of paying for it.

england almost went bankrupt because of the cost of the war and disruption of trade, france did.

airspro...  are you really comparing the revolutionary war with some insurgents in Iraq?

That is what is stupid.   The brits had plenty of opportunity to fight in set piece battles against uniformed Americans...  the war was won by large battles.     How is this like the war in Iraq?

The revolutionary war was not a few hundred or thousand outside terrorists sniping at troops... the analogy further falls apart if you realize that the United states was a british colony and that britans sole reason for being their was to be able to continue to rule a country they had been ruling.

it also strikes me as odd that those who would say the second amendment has no purpose and that 100-300 million armed Americans could not possibly stand up to the police and army of the U.S. all seem to be more than willing to say that we have no chance against a few thousand insurgents in another country.
