It doesn't really matter for what the board is rated for, it's the CPU that requires a certain clockspeed from the memory.

Sure it's possible to run asynchronous ram speed with some of the new motherboards - but tests show that asynch memory can in fact drop overall performance. AMD systems usually work best with sync memory.

Your CPU is rated for PC3200 actually so the ram could be a slight problem. But in any case it shouldn't be a showstopper by means of having lightyears better performance after simple speed bump.

Put some decent cooling and psu on that 3700 sandy and clock it to fx-57 speeds. Mines ran at 3ghz for over a year now without issue , and the fx57 is clocked at 2.8ghz. You might need to use a memory divider and turn the HT link down to 800mhz , but that system will still run very well . If ya want some help clocking it give me a shout at rukkee@adelphia.net.  GL 38
