Help with VOX. Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
« on: December 20, 2006, 05:02:09 PM »
Ok so here is my dilemma.  I have a Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, that’s the A2 with the fancy ports up front. I am not able to be heard is AH.  I reinstalled the game as well as my drivers and still nothing.  What troubles me the most is that I sound great in Windows but when I switch to the game… nothing.  I even un-muted the mike so when I am in the game, I can hear myself talk, but still the squadies can’t hear me.  I switched between the ports in the back and the ones in front and it seems to not make a difference.  Everything was working fine before I accidentally sent all my soundcard settings back to default and the squadies were complaining that my vox sounded like I had my head out of a car window driving down the freeway.  That was before I reinstalled but now just a carrier beep.  I really don’t know what to do.  Can anyone help??

Have you solved your problem yet ?
I've got a Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum and my vox is working fine.
With the latest Creative driver the cards are about the same.
If need be I'll take some SnagIt8 shots and post them.......ifin
I can figure how tooooooooo.

If it worked before, and it doesnt work now, I would uninstall the drivers and THEN uninstall any program files folder with creative in it. Then reinstall new drivers.  If a setting was messed up this should help.

Make sure the microphone is set as the default recording device in the Windows Sound Recording Control panel.  By default, it is not.

or go to the icon in lower right that looks like a white square with blue in it.  When u open that, go to sound mixer tab and all the way to right, select mic.  That panel is basically a volume control panel that Sound blaster made.

Ok, so I was able to figure it out, Thanks so much for all your help.  What is different about my sound card configuration is that I have the ports up front which give me an additional “line-in/mic-2.” This is the one I wanted to use.  It didn’t matter what line-in mic I was using, I did not have the “record” slider all the way up.  Not sure why this makes a difference but it did.  I was able to trouble shoot the issue by using Google Talk on a separate computer which happened to be in the same room.  When the record slider is all the way down, No one can hear me.  If I could, I would show you a screen shot of my settings, but I am unable to figure that out at this time.  Again, thanks for your quick replies!!          LTARmedc
