silat... So a lefty website says that most media is owned by conservatives... interesting. Then why do they hire liberals at 76%?

The article is short on documented fact. Lott's book on bias in the media goes into it much more deeply.

The NRA does surveys of all politicians running for office... it appears that about 90% or more of democrats get an "F" or failing grade for their gun control stance... it is only about 10% of the republicans.

Now if you can't think of what democrats are trying to take my guns away then you haven't really been paying attention have you? Is the brady bunch trying to destroy the second amendment? Of course it is... Is it allmost entirely composed of democrats? of course it is. Is finestein a democrat? course she is. Allmost every gun control law in the last 30 years was written and voted in by democrats.

As for liberal and democrat and the past and present uses of the words... you are about 50-60 years too late to be proud of being a liberal or a democrat.... they are a different breed now... more like commies than fighters for real human rights. socialism is a yoke not a freedom.

if you vote for democrats then your second amendment rights mean very little to you.

I prefer living in a place where no armed or unarmed attackers invade my house in the first place.

ripley... read the stories... most of em are elderly or infirm or women who are attacked in their homes by criminals who are not armed with firearms but brute strength and makeshift weapons. Other examples are store or business robberies... you have no robberies or strongarm thefts there?

My ideal place to live is one where anyone can arm themselves with any weapon they wish but there are severe penalties for using a weapon to commit a crime.

Why are you not afraid of your government having guns but afraid for your neighbor to have one?

Often I find that those who think people don't need to have firearms to defend themselves... often I find these folks are young able bodied men who not only think they can take care of themselves but... their families.. they are foolish of course and they no way can protect their loved ones when not home and can't even protect themselves from multiple adversaries armed with makeshift weapons or clubs and knives... they are just naive little cherubs.

oh... and guns or not... I don't want to live in finland for any reason.

silat... you are kidding right? You believe like most lefties that control of the media assures victory? that if you truly controled the media you would prevail? LOL.. thankfully.. it is not that simple and people are just tuning out of mainstream media in droves.... Fox decimeated the lefty news shows and it is not that great a news source... the head of NBC addmitted that his service was way too far left. Lefty newspapers are going broke.

But read Lotts book for source and stats.

Go to the NRA/ILA website and do the research and you will see what the voting record is.

you seem perfectly willing...eager even, to go to every lefty site on the web even tho none of them offer a shred of proof or footnotes or sources... Lotts book is heavily footnoted and documented. I have pointed you in the right direction.. it is up to you to look into it.

As for my SS...that was extorted from me... I will accept that pittance the second I am eligible for it. I will try to gain a small fraction back of the money that was extorted from me in my remaining years. There will be no way to get whole over the deal tho. No way to make up the damage that putting the money into stocks would have given me. In any case.. SS will be about 1/5 of my retirement funds and I would have starved to death if it was all I had.

liberals are socialists.... all modern liberal principles lead toward socialism. liberals can't function without a big socialist government. I don't think that you can say that you are not a socialist... not with a straight face anyway.

Obama is on record (same site as above) as supporting a ban on all semi-automatic firearms. There's a well-reasoned position; every Remington 1100 would be banned.

guys... I don't think that silat really believes what he was saying.

Liberal got a bad name because of all the people claiming to be one. How is it liberal to ban guns and destroy the second amendment? yet... most who claim the title liberal are for more restrictive gun laws and even more destruction of our second amendment.
