HT has said in the past that collisions would be an absolute nightmare in the tank war. If I recall, the main differnce is that the tank collisions are much more than the qucik flash of contact, and the presence of internet lag could result in "clipping violations" where tank parts would exist inside other tanks with no end of coding problems ensuing.

Not to mention the mass and armor effects of collisions, an entirely new chunk of calculations and coding.

Vehicles can't have the same properties as objects which we can collide with?

Nope Ht said someplace it would do strange things.

like get stuck together or bounce off at high speeds.

Simple solution don't let the little buggers near you.

It's not a simple solution, a jeep can outrun a tiger, and you can't turn the Tigers turret fast enough to keep up with it at close range, not to mention it's such a small target.

If they could somehow code it where the GV's cannot take hits from the inside it would eliminate the problem.

But it is a simple solution . Kill the little bugger from the commanders position.
Jeeps die fast to rifle rounds. Only way he gets you is YOU let him get so close you can't get enough down angle from that gun.

Just one spot that can't be covered from the commander spot.  Once moving use steering input to keep the bastage out of it.

Any time I'm in a tiger and I hear a jeep I immediately start up and start moving.

I then jump to commanders position and scan. Once I kill the little bugger return to my spot and start all over.

This is the best unintentional bug ever.

Keep lazy spawn camper on their toes or they get spanked.

If all else fails, check the roster to see if I'm online. I love killing jeeps, but  I don't get to kill nearly as many as I'd like. :)

I've been on both sides of this, and given the alternative of being glued together or flying apart like a split atom, I'm not sure this is bad enough to warrant a change. I'd rather have to take my chances with the tankjackers,  then have to hold on to my desk for dear life as I suddenly accelerate to ludicrous speed when a jeep careens into me.

Come to think of it, that might be a little more exciting. :t

yea killing tigers with jeeps aint noobish by my books..its noobish of the tiger to not notice/care of that annoying jeep:noid

if tiger drivers r stupid enought to let jeeps get that close they might as well try to catch falling bombs, and that would be a sight to see:rolleyes:

I if remember correctly from a conversation long ago -

If they enabled vehicle collisions a few weird side effects can happen because of lag and the fact that compared to aircraft GV's are way slow -

a) They could actually lock together partially inside each other - not good
b) They could bounce and fly apart at warp speed - not good

:furious we dont need to add to the already Bs'ness to the game by making jeeps ram into tigers and the tiger flys across the map
