This is really amazing video footage of an IAF F-15 that had a mid-air with an A-4.  A-4 went down in flames, and this video is a testament to the high durability and fantastic design of the F-15 Eagle.  Any questions or comments, please post in this thread. (IS THAT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU MP3!  IS THAT ENOUGH COMMENTARY)

oops...well I get what you mean Vulcan.  I guess you were looking for actual footage of the mid-air.  I think an F-15 with a single wing is just as impressive though.

I'm pretty sure a USAF F15 lost a wing once in similar circumstances and landed safely.

I can't find the reference though.

Edit It was an F/A18

That was a US Navy Agressor F/A-18 that had a mid-air and the pilot was able to bring it down.  Not only did it lose a portion of the wing, but it also lost a couple feet of one of the vertical stabilizers.....Impressive nonetheless, but I still can't believe the F-15 made it back with that much damage.

You know back in the day, I believe the first F-105 Thunderchief had a main gear failure. They decided to belly land the plane and upon touchdown it rolled over two or three times. Pilot walked out scratch free. In fact if I remember correctly the ground crew after fixing the stuck main gear, started the plane up and flew it from where it had settled from the roll overs.

That was one tough bird as well. Nice to see they still make them so they can get our boys home.
