PC Freeze...
« on: April 01, 2001, 12:40:00 AM »
I go to play AH online and within minutes (sometimes seconds) my computer freezes.

I've ran scandisk, defrag., and redownloaded AH a few times to try to fix the problem...with no avail.

System resources are at 96%, HD space is 79% free, and I have no programs running in the background.

Running AMD 500, VooDoo 3, and 184 megs of ram.

If you have any tips on what I can do (HiTech or anyone) it will be much appeciated.

Most possibly your problems are related to hardware drivers, not Aces High..

So first, download latest drivers for your motherboard chipset, display card, sound card, game controllers and at least DirectX7.0a.

If then the problem persists, you have to look for reasons elsewhere..

I checked and I have all updated drivers running and DirectX 8. I still have the pc locking up after only a few minutes (the other day I managed to get a kill, just before lockup).

It doesnt freeze when runing AH offline, but it does when in MA, TA, and Dueling Arena...even tried going through Alternate Route with no avail.

HITECH!!!!!! I know you helped out JATO, he says he had this problem before. I'll call yall later if no reply appears.

AAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

More info.

Give your system specs.  Especially your connection details.  The fact that it only happens online leads me to suspect that either your modem or NIC is sharing an IRQ with something it shouldn't, or yout network connection is doing something bad.

Have you virus scanned that thing with the latest definitions?
