...yeah, because if he doesn't hold on tightly to his own name, his testicles will fall off.

The main reason I know for most men not changing thier name when marrying was due to inheritance issues.  I don't see anything really "wrong" with a guy wishing to take his bride's name, especially in a situation like the one described above but it certainly isn't a conventional method of thought.

In Brasil names include both the father's and mother's family names to help separate all the people with the same first name. Ancestory is very important to those people. A woman when marrying will maintain her entire maiden name and take on the groom's father's last name, his family name.

I guess it doesn't really make any difference in the grand scheme of life but I would personaly prefer to keep my last name.

People should be able to make decisions on these matters without it becoming big public issues or involve slow, cumbersome bureaucratic processes.

That being said, what a homo.

Lot more to it than who's name is being used....

All else being equal.

If he takes a womans name... no big deal... if he votes like a woman and wears her makeup in public... quite another thing.

Good point Neubob.

If he wants to take her name that's fine. Gettting the media involved ,just smacks of "Hey everybody look how progressive I am".

EQUAL RIGHTS HA

- We have an office for women but no office for men

- We have a minister for womens affairs but no minister for mens affairs

- We have a thing called womens-infolink, but no mens info link.

and so on and so forth.....

I am all for equal rights, but thats not what we have....

Like Homer Simpson said [sarcasim] "I am a white male 18 to 45 everyone listens to me." [/sarcasim]
