I'm averaging one @ day since the server upgrade. Prior to that discos were very rare for me.

It's always funny when I tell people I have dialup and they say, "Get cable/dsl/wireless/etc"

I always want to say, "What!?  Get broadband!?  Why didn't I think of that!!!!!11one"

But...I'll be nice and say:

Broadband is not offered in my neighborhood.

Those with easy access to broadband can never understand the plight of the modem user, the silent war that is going on, nor our seething hatred of the telcos....he said with a crazy look in his eye.

I remember when cable for computers was not available in my neighborhood. I'd call any time they advertised on the radio. Finally while driving to visit a customer, I heard the ad and called.... the silence was deafening... tic... toc... tic... toc as the guy checked.... BINGO it was now available. He asked if I would like them to set me up and send out a tech... I said heck NO.... give me the address of the nearest place to get my modem... I'll set it up. Seems eons ago... but I remember it well.
