Country MOTDs.
« on: January 05, 2007, 06:08:41 PM »
Well, as we all know, we have squad MOTDs, we have MOTDs for H2H arenas, we have MOTDs for special events. The only thing missing is special MOTDs for separate countries.

You could use these MOTDs for special country briefings on what their objective is / will be. It also prevents the opposite team from knowing what your objective is. Thus increasing realism through the matter of "guessing" what the opposing team is going to do. It might also help for special team details that other sides should not know of, such as special VOX channels, TS addresses, etc...

It could work by saving the file in the same format, except placing the country ID numerical value behind the "D" of the motd file (motd1.h2h = bishops, motd2.h2h = knights, motd3.h2h = rooks.) It would be really awesome if we could have separate motds for separate countries.

What do you think?

message of the day...hmmm

I guess the question is who gets to choose and pick what the MOTD is?

"I wanna go after 48 bish....no I wanna go after 32 bish'  etc.

As far as other sides not know, I guess the dual accounters might disagree that would be kept secret.

Dunno tho, maybe a good idea

Well, of course there is always the possibility that someone will switch teams to keep the game-play as fair as possible, and will probably afterwards switch to yet another country. Yet it would improve some of the statistics of game-play if you have an active host.

Say for instance flight details are posted in the MOTD. What your current objective is and what time this objective should be carried out. After the objective is complete the host can change the country's MOTD to update anyone new who might be joining about the current situation and what they should be expecting.

At the same time, the majority of the enemy has to guess what the host is telling the opposite team and where the enemy might strike. It may seem complicated, yet I think it would greatly improve game-play.
