USB problem

I recently built a new puter.
I can boot up & down play online etc all ok.
If I install any sort of USB device its ok running. But when I reboot after shuting down I get blue screen of death with the meessage
an exception OE has occured at 0028:F049003 in VXD... called from 0028:C1C32814 in VXD...
If I then disconect the usb device it works ok. Have updated bios & any new drivers I could find. At the moment Im just making sure I disconnect before shutdown.

ASUS A7a266 m/b with ALI chip
512 DDR ram
3D Prophet 4500 64ram
Windows98se
directx8a
sound blaster live

What USB devices are causing the problem?  Give me specifics and if I find some time I'll try researching it for you.

It is a link to a file, so I don't know exactly what it fixes, but it's something...

Tried the file already didnt do any good. The problem occures with any USB device. Tried Joystick Game voice & a Camara & they all did the same thing. They all work ok just when rebooting after shut down.??

Airbull what is your modem on pc I had the same problem when i changed to cable ... I had no cable port on tower so had to use exterior adaptor and driver screwed every thing up but after spending  a day on the phone with tech support found that usb ports dont go any where you want them to go.... high end devices must go on tower and not on hub.. dont know if that is the problem or not but just A thought good luck !!!
