VIA 4.32 drivers out
« on: June 20, 2001, 03:23:00 AM »
www.viahardware.com

Nothing major in this version.  As far as I can tell it just added the 4.05c AGP driver and support for Windows XP.

If you have 4.29 already (or 4.31) don't bother with it.  All the 4.05c driver has that is different than the regular 4.05 is improved performance with the kt266 chipset.  (I can guarantee none of you have a board with this chipset yet.)

People that are having problems and have old versions of the via drivers may try this and find it fixes problems though...

Then just put the 4.32's in and you won't have to worry about it.  :)

The 4-in-1's are a bundle of drivers, so you won't find a "version" for the bundle, except by finding the version of each driver in the bundle.  It's easier to just install the latest ones, then you'll know for sure.

hi,

anybody here who installed the AGP VxD part of those drivers in 'standard' mode ??
i always do that to force AGP 1X mode, but this latest version falls back to 4X ?!?
(checked with WCPUID, http://www.h-oda.com/)

I always install the AGP driver in turbo mode, but then limit to 2x in the bios.  (My system actually runs stable at 4x if I force fastwrites and sidebanding off.)
