they taste pretty much the same on the way back out.

I have never been up in an open cockpit (the wife was going to get me a tigermoth flight for my birthday last year).

But If I was you I would have a very light breakfast... just to be on the safe side...

i did it in Michigan years ago.  a female airline pilot was at the controls, she owned the plane.  its a little scary learning to trust the seat belt harness to keep you in the plane while inverted.  she let me fly straight and level, and do some turns.  the controls felt heavy to me, the plane seemed big, and bit lumbering to me.  visibility forward taxiiing was very poor, you will be "s" turning on the ground.  its a big, beautiful bird in person, and the engine is awonderful thing.  cost me $25 bucks back then, for about 20 mins.

tell ya what, you ever throw up in our Stearman, and you can guarantee you'll be cleaning it out, or we'll bill your credit card 20 times what it costs to fly in it.... ;)

Had an aerobatic ride in a Pitts once, although the only comparsion is that they are both biplanes. Pulled a lot of G. Wasn't too bad, that said I am a pilot, so used to it to some degree. The negative G is what really sickens you. However the Stearman is a big cuddly teddy bear of a machine compared to the Pitts Special and I doubt the pilot will do much negative stuff if at all.

During manoeuvres pulling g you can brace yourself. (Think constipation):aok and there will be less chance of you feeling sick not to mention less chance of a greying out. Bracing prevents the blood from heading for your toes.  It really does work. I took about 5g's before it got blurry. Great fun. Enjoy,

I'd love to fly a Stearman, maybe I could convince the Stearman owner at my airport to take me up:)

My Dad's b-day is coming up, I've been thinking about trying to get him interested in flying again, with the ulterior motive of hoping that results in him buying a plane...  :)  He's an ex-Navy pilot, flew Intruders in the 'Nam era.  I'm wondering what would be appropriate to get him, as he hasn't flown in probably 25 years.  Thoughts/suggestions?  Oh yeah, the 'rents live in PA, so we prolly want to keep this in the north east.

thx guys! shouldn't be bad. i've hit 4g (briefly) on a certain roller coaster and 2g lateral in a race car. The website says no negative G, and I don't get sick very easily. I picked the Stearman over the AT-6 simply because I've never flow in an open cockpit before, so it should be a treat.

Bodhi, you are a lucky man :)  I'd pay $5 to stand behind a revving Stearman just to smell that oil  :aok
