Lines of Advance on a Small Map
« on: December 13, 2006, 01:28:49 PM »
Greetings,

Playing around with the lines of advance concept.  I know that, right now, small maps won't be used as such, but I would like some comments on the concept for the small map below.

The white lines are connecting lines between bases.  The yellow, red and blue lines are the initial connecting lines between two opposing countries.  Of course they work both ways.

The yellow arrows are the vehicle spawn lines - generally they follow the connecting white lines.

Comments?

Yeah, next time use a reliable host for those pictures, the one you have now seems to be slow, and make sure their in ".jpg" format to reduce file size and make loading the images a breeze. Other than that, I like the layout. Then again I'm not an MA player and I wouldn't be able to tell you if it's good or not.

That's the existing Baltic MA map. I'm not sure what he's thinking, but you can't edit MA maps.

Greetings,

Ya, it's an existing map.   Just looking for a thought process.  What would you think about the links if it comes into being?

Personally, I like the limitations on lines of advance, but I don't know if it will happen now.

btw to add the lines using the Terrain Editor, turn on the lines by using right click on the map.

Then shift and ctrl right click and drag to link 2 bases. I forget if shift is double link or ctrl is double link.

To delete the links use the menu item air field order.

Hitech, isn't shift / ctrl + right-click for camera movement? Or is there a certain section that is designated to perform these actions?

Click On the navigation map (lower right hand coner), not the terrain window.

HT.. Is capture logic currently reversed?

As in if you capture path 3 bases in the TE, are all other bases capturable and the 3 marked uncapturable.

I'm speaking for MA use.

No  it is not reversed, but there is no way to get the first capture of the chained fields, hence they can not be captured.
