Autopilot Compass Heading/Altitude
« on: January 18, 2007, 08:30:40 AM »
I've searched for this and couldn't find it...I apologize if it's been asked for already.

I'd like the autopilot to accept compass direction and altitude.  Like ".aph 140" For autopilot heading 140 and ".apa 15000" for autopilot altitude 15000 feet.  It would make flying in formation with squaddies, and bomber formations much easier.

There's nothing more terrifying than seeing a finger 4 formation of 109's with JG 54 plastered on the side heading to a base near you.  :)

or

a massive formation of B24's in an actual defensive formation rather than stretched out like a drunken 2 headed snake.

repulic, not to be offensive, but mainly the only autopilot pilots in WWII had was the trim. They continouslly adjusted the trim for level flying. Formation is your problem.

formations, in 8 player, i ask the host to turn of collision and we fly like wing tip to wing tip. when enmy fighters appear, we press x and go to gunner and fire away. hopefully not shooting our own teamate down.:D

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Um, kinda defeats the point of flying the plane, doesn't it?
