AKWabbit !! Citabria !!! Help !
« on: June 02, 2000, 01:59:00 PM »
I was told you guys might help !

I have made a perfect startup wav file for the
b17. But.......
When played alone in mediaplayer it is great.
When played in AH there seem to be an
double playback + delay applied to it.
This make the starter cranking engine cough sound awful to say the least.
Is there something I am missing ?
Is there a way to turn this (I assume multi engine sound simulation) off ?

yup thats due to all 4 engines using the sound file at the same time.

its possible to turn the volume of individual engines to different levels in the sounds menu so that might solve the problem

if it is the engine running sound giving the echo playback try ackwabbits b17 running sound, he has it synched where the engines harmonize nicely and its very authentic sound for a B17.

Thanks Citabria !
I didn't know about individual volume
control for each engine. I'll check it out !
That will work fine for me.

I have a great sound of a b17 startup
that beats everything i've heard so far.
My "Engine running" sound sucks in AH
but is great in normal playback.
I got to tune the playback "speed"
when I get a chance.

B.t.w. do own or fly a Citabria ?

not as much as I used to, I learned the aerobatics capable on the Citabria but it has been a while since I've flown it, I have been learning on the Pitts s2c which is a very fun airplane to fly with a little more extreme flight envelope and maneuvering ability.

Amen to the Pitts !

I was at an airshow today and saw
a 1940 Waco with a jet engine
from a Canadair 114 (Tudor Jet Used By The Snowbird Team) in addition to the radial.
Flown by Jimmy Franklin with son Kyle as wingwalker.
Very Cool. Used the jet for vertical
climb (better than 1:1 power weight I would say)
then chop throttle coming over the top.
Plus... Talk about STOL.. wow !

In regards to the AH wave files...
How do turn off the sound from the other
virtual engines ?
Is there a ini/cfg file ?
I played with the vStart but it seems to make no difference.
