quick and easy weather fix

anyone know if there a config file that i can access to find all of that out or do i need to write it all down from the arena settings in game?

yeah, i think arena.cfg has all the arena values in it.

colours as well as all the other settings

btw 88, are you running an old version of AH?

those terrain tiles look like the nasty old ones with no depth perception...

and the old tracer effects...

yes.  the screen shots that i posted were taken during that brief ugly phase that we went through prior to the latest graphical enhancements.  it was actually the reason that i started experimenting with the arena settings.

i have retested it on the new version and it looks really even better.

maybe someone out there can whisper in their ear and ask them to give it a try in the arenas one day.  how cool would that be?

here are the settings that i currently have loaded as my arena config file.  not sure if these are right...i think they are though because i know that i set the visibility value to five miles.   this version is a bit darker than the original, but you can toy with the settings in any way that you want.  i also changed the light color from white to a shade of gray for a deeper mood.  the images shown above are not quite as dark as this version...the clouds in particular are much darker.  also...it was A4, not A1 on the Baltic map that i have been experimenting with.   bases without clouds are still a nice rainy day gray...but not quite as dramatic.

maybe someone would try it out and see if these are the correct settings?  (might want to save the old one first tho)

and its not exactly a local thing where you can fly out of it, its the whole 256miles.... thats one big cloud! lol

it doesnt have to be...its the same as it is regularly anywhere else...its just dense grays and cloud cover, which could still be a welcome change.  i don't see where it would effect anything as far as performance...its just decreasing visibility and changing colors.  all there is to it.

give it a try.  you might like it.

(note:  on the last screenie, the visibility was set @ ten miles.  you could still effectively bomb, see the enemy etc.)
