maybe
but don't you think we are already in the state you describe above as is most of the rest of the world?

No I don't think we are in that state yet Eagler.  According to some economists and other social theorists, as long as a country has 10% of its population to lead the other 90%, it will be ok.  For example, if 10% of the U.S. is comprised of scientists, leaders, professionals (doctors, businessmen, lawyers, etc), the U.S. will be able to continue on its merry way.  The other 90% will be workers, children, and the old.

I think the Mayan calendar runs out in 2014 or something like that. I have to wonder why their gods didn't suggest to them that their calendar expire about 45 seconds after Cotez made landfall.

There's no accounting for accuracy IMO

Lets toss this into the fray?...............

http://www.sierratimes.com/07/03/26/70_224_215_164_30007.htm

It's an OPINION but many of the young people I have spoken with DON'T know much of anything about the Constitution or the Bill of Rights.

They were NOT taught about it.

They are taught how to act, and think, and talk BUT..................
It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.  I think these three things are highly linked to the success of our (the United States) economy.
