Linksys Wireless Router
« on: January 28, 2007, 02:07:53 PM »
Alright guys, Im trying to hook up wireless internet to this Dell Latitude d820.

I got a wireless router, and bought a wireless networking card, not knowing this computer already had an internal one.  I took the networking card back to radioshack.

Now here is the problem...

I got the router installed, and had a working connection from my modem, the the router, and to the computer.   So the next thing to do, was make the connection wireless.  When I use the wireless setup wizard that is on the Linksys Advisor Installation CD, I get to a point where it says there is no wired connection between the router and the computer, which is total bull**** because Im looking at it right now.;)

any ideas?

Make sure the driver is installed for the internal wireless card and then unplug the wired connection and reboot computer. The card should see the wireless connection and ask you if you want to connect to it, connect to it and setup the rest of your security if you want and that is it. This is how mine worked anyways, hope it is that easy for you as well.
