great fights in the AvA
« on: January 27, 2007, 11:35:28 PM »
I don't think I've died this much in months.  I know I haven't had as good a night with the game in a long time too.  thanks to all who participated on both teams for keeping the sides well balanced.  The AvA had the feel of the old CT today I'm glad I got to be a part of it.

That was some good teamwork.  That 3 vs 3 fight we had this afternoon was an absolute blast.  Love my 190 :)

LMAO, you're such a cad storch. spose this was after the 15 guys in 190s stopped vulching me and one other guy in hurricanes.

team numbers when i logged off bored:

Axis: 17 - 15 in flight

Allied: 5 - 2 in flight

when i said something i was called a whiner by one of your squad mates.

LOL at you though, way to mention the good fights and ignore the hour and a half of score padding from great alt ;)

oh how stupid of me, there was me thinking you had enough balls to admit what you are like when you play in AvA.

i suppose that because you had maybe an hour of fair fight today, it cancells out the 90 minutes of vulching from the day before. i got some good films of my low P38 vs 5 high 190s right over the allied base. you dont remember the shooting me down as i persued 2 of your squad mates?

carry on as you were squadron leader, talking the good fight as much as you can in the hopes that some people will buy it.

much respect ace, i hope i can reach your level of social manipulation one day.

Bat is still a wee bit upset with the constant gangbanging going on the day before, not tonight.

I agree with you, for the couple hours I was on tonight, things were well balanced for the most part.

But I also agree with Bat that the night before was decidedly not.

Thats exactly why not that many people come back to the AvA IMHO.They come in there for the " FAIR " gameplay & the historical aspect and get treated like crap so they don't come back into the AvA anymore.

well it must be so then.  funny though with the exception of when all the P38s were coming in at 20k most of the fights at are around 5k.

I wish I knew where all these guys that are constantly saving my butt are because I must have died 20 times last night.  I can't imagine why you guys would post so spitefully LTARS, JG54 was playing both sides in order to balance the numbers.  aside from the nit picking going on which I will not participate in, inspite of dying tons I had a blast.  truly first rate fights in there.

vultching?? who vultched?

I have to say that sondog is developing into an excellent player with good skill and polished manuevers.  he dives into any number of opponents and often times makes tremendously difficult kills against multiple adversaries.

another player that has flat out blown me away with his superb skills is platano, always in the most difficult rides, in this set up the P40.  he is nearly untouchable in a 1 v 1 and cah acquit himself very well against two.
to you both.

ok batty you are complaining about getting beat up on what would friday night!!!  I don't recall seeing you friday either.  did you come on for just one fight, get killed and leave?  come back batty you are always fun to fight against.  if it will make you feel better I'll hit autopilot so you can killl me easier.

no real beef here storch, but it sure wasnt very fun last time i logged in.

to be called a whiner for pointing out the 15 vs 2 imballance was a little frustrating to say the least.

i don't want easy kills, but i also dont enjoy being targeted by 5 guys circling at 10,000ft before i get out of view of the runway.

the current setup is about the most dominant in the axis' favour that ive seen, plane set wise, and i would equate what i saw last time i logged into AvA to a bunch of hording la7s in LWarena.

Not to speak out of place...but I believe that in the AvA, and the MA we fight as a squad.  We clear each others 6's, we drag, we rope, we do what it takes, as a team, to clear the skies of red.  We up together, we cover each other while rtb'ing...basically as 'real' and 'historical' as a cartoon can be.

To be upset because we flock to cover a wounded comrade and fly somewhat historical tactics...is silly.  If a squaddie calls for help, I'll burn my engine up trying to get to him...isn't that how you would expect a WW2 squad to fly?  Join/Create/recruit an AvA squad of your own so that you can have that kind of support and camaraderie as well.

I thought last night was a great deal of fun, and like storch said...I died more last night than I have in a VERY long time.  Platano flew that P-40 so well I quickly decided if I saw a P-40 to quickly turn the other way.  :)  I remember when Platano and I were both n00bs...now he is one of the best pilots I've seen...I'm still a n00b though.  :)

About vulching, I don't know that I ever even made it to the allied airfield to be able to vulch...  And trust me...there were PLENTY of allied fellas hoing the living daylights out of me to make up for any axis hoing.  I was hoed in a 1 engined 110 limping back to base for crying out loud.  But..it's ok.  I personally never ho, but if that's how someone wants to get their kicks..who am I to gripe.

Anyhow, to all who participated!

dont take it personaly republic.

storch and i go quite a long way back in the combat theatre arena, our bickering is mostly harmless.

ive always been thankfull that JG54 make good numbers up and make alot of the good fights in AvA, its just sometimes you boys get all worked up and dont realise that all the allies have logged and your using your refined tactics on a couple of new guys over and over, untill you have them pinned and they either keep dying or log.

edit: oh yeah, and its worth mentioning these days alot more, cos in the old days 5 on 1 vs your 109s used to be funa dn easy to win :)

damn you guys for getting so good, i blame N7.
