Why was the option for gonds removed from the f4?

True they didn't come from the factory that way.  BUT

The reports are they were fitted in the field with gonds to combat inbound allied bombers during the early stages of the war.

So why not put back the option for gonds on the f4?
It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

Reports also say that American pilots and ground crews widely used Allison power ratings in the field, which were much higher than official U.S.A.A.F. ratings.  Perhaps we should also have this implemented.
