Bell P-39 Airacobra (US Fighter, did it enter service in EW or MW?)
Entered service yes, although 1/2 were sent to Russia as part of Lend-Lease (as well as nearly all P63 Kingcobras later on) and saw most of their action on the eastern front. Second highest scoring Ace for the Allies, Aleksandr Ivanovich Pokryshkinflew, 60+ kills, flew the P-39 for most, in not all, of the war.
I've argued that a P-39, in Soviet skin and in Russian planeset, would be a appropriate nod to the Lend-Lease Act and Pokryshkinflew's record, as well as getting a EW bird added to the game.
How to model a completely unrecoverable flat spin with it though......
* How many "new" planes have we seen in AH-II in the last year or two? At
best you
might see
1 new EW plane from that megalist over the next 2 years if things keep going as they are now. Which will it be?
* Probably won't be a bomber, since buff drivers often complain about getting a second perk worthy bomber to fly..... that means late war.
* Don't see getting a float plane, and if so, can you saw hangar queen? Don't think model is set up for water landings and take offs anyway..... just ditching.
* Do you really want the addition to be a slow early war dive bomber or torpedo plane?.... Japanese have those already. Disregarded. If things change and we starting seeing more planes added, revisit this idea.
* Going to assume they are not going to want to add an additional Country category to the websites, since they are not maintaining them very well now, so disregard any additional county planes.
* Also don't see them including a EW plane that was replaced by another EW plane.
Those assumptions cuts your list down to about this with a quick look:
Bell P-39 Airacobra
Brewster Buffalo (US Fighter, other countries used it as well)
Fairey Battle (UK Fighter)
Fairey Firefly (UK Fighter)
Fiat G.50 Freccia (Italian Fighter)
Fiat CR.42 Falco (Italian Fighter)
Gloster Gladiator (UK Fighter)
Henschel Hs 123 (German Fighter)
Kawasaki Ki-45 Toryu 'Nick' (Japanese two engine fighter)
Lovochkin LaGG-1/LaGG-3 (Russian Fighter)
Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-1/MiG-7 (Russian Fighter)
Mitsubishi Ki.46 'Dinah' (Japanese Fighter)
Nakajima Ki.43 Hayabusa 'Oscar' (Japanese Fighter)
Polikarpov I-16 (Russian Fighter, a must have)
Polikarpov I-153 (Russian Fighter)
Reggiane Re 2001 Falco II (Italian Fighter, a must have)
Seversky P-35 (US Fighter)
Westland Whirlwind (UK Fighter, a must have)
Yakovlev Yak-1 (Russian Fighter)
So.... choose 1 and give your reasons why IT should be the one to argue and beg for. Are there any others in that list you can argue to cut now?
And I'll add one, a GV..... German 88mm FlaK 36.... details in thread on Airplanes and Vehicles Forum.
