Only a possibility... don't know you or how many times you've installed XP but... During the install process ( don't remember how many minutes in) it does reboot. A common mistake is for the user to then do as the boot screen tells them "Hit any key to boot from CD..." If you do hit a key at this point it will just start the install pocess all over again. Just leave the 'puter alone when you see that prompt and it will continue on with the install process. Like I said, I don't know you and maybe the above is not the case. :)

Thnx guys, it wasnt crashing.  I left it alone while it said it had like 27 minutes remainging and a few minutes later it would reboot.  Actually, it had completed the install in that amount of time and i just needed to reset the BIOS to boot to hard drive instead of cd-rom:(

Thnx for help tho.  <--searches for embarass smilicon

After that installation reboot, the bootloader is supposed to attempt to boot from the CD but ask explicitly if you want to boot from the CD.  If you don't do anything, it'll go to the hard drive to boot.

That's how it's supposed to work to avoid the endless installation process.  Then again, if the user intervenes and keeps clicking "yes" to boot from the cd instead of just letting the option time out and go to the hard drive, then... :)

But there should be no reason to have to adjust boot priority in bios.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

Yea, i did that. I thought it was crashing and starting the process all over because the last 27 minutes of the install took 3 minutes.  Only when i was watching the process did i realize it had completed.
