Trouble with my new Saitek X-36.
« on: July 17, 2001, 04:31:00 PM »
I just got a new X-36- it has 2 hats on the joystick, I wanted to map one hat to normal view and one hat to high views.  Only problem is that the second hat doesnt seem to actually work with the game?  I'd appreciate anyone's help with it if anyone has one.

You might have to go into the game, in the Setup section, then Joystick, then Select Joystick, and map your other hats to specific inputs.  Although AH does a pretty good job assigning things to start with from a fresh install, when you switch sticks you may have to go in and map some things again, especially with the fancier sticks that have lots of things on 'em.

Here's where you do that:

First fire up the game, then select Offline, then --->  Clipboard | Setup | Joystick | Select Joystick

Now pick your stick or throttle device, then pick a control to map on the left and the button/switch/thing from the joystick on the right and press the Set Input button.

That should do it.  :)

Or just forget the AH setup and make a config with the saitek software or download Rangerbobs config from AH site.

Very nice stick Urchin, using it too, love all the buttons on throttle and stick, hardly use the keyboard anymore. Do you have pedals too? CHPedals Pro (USB) work very well with the Saitek.

PS. SGE3.0 driver is out, U can download it from Saitek site, it works well.

I was trying to do a similar thing to you Urchin and at the urging of several other Saitek users, I decided to program it all using the SGE software.....it was much easier.

Try downloading RangerBob's profile from the HTC site and then modifying it to whatever you want.
