Waffle / HTC ... gunsights question

been working on some "Illuminated" dot sights, and other stuff....


made these so far:

but having trouble with some colors...


is it possible to have a real "RED" dot? every color and palette we try comes out pink in-game.

can you help out with this? (a palatte that makes red for example in an "Illuminated" way)

other than that, Waffle, got any tips on how you made yours? brushes, settings etc......

Currently I am using the "bore-site", but if you ever get your "red02" pipper "illuminated" and can make the "dot" at least twice as large (74yo bi-focaled eyeballs require larger objects) I would more than welcome your contribution.
I have absolutely no expertise or knowledge of making any type of grafix!

too hungover to think clearly right now, but I made several black/white layers of varying degrees of sharpness / blurring. Multiplied those down over some color gradients. Then exported those as indexed BMPs.

It looks like you've got the right idea.

in that zip file is one called "jetil" it is a rather large dot, somewhat illuminated, try that one



Waffle, when you sober up and get straight in the head, could you detail the process a bit more?

with specifics as to how the color "changes" in game?

as I said the red becomes "pink" though using the old style of making just a red dot, it can be red in game (with the pink "transparent" background)
