Museum and Pub (UK AH'rs read)
« on: January 25, 2007, 04:52:22 PM »
Trikky and I had a conversation in the arenas today, and we decided that it would be cool to have a little AH get together. We thought we might go to an aircraft museum (perhaps RAF museum Hendon) together on a Saturday, then pop down the pub together for a bit, for food and errrr, drink(s)... :D

Are there any London based AH'rs (or those within travelling distance of London) that might like to come? We were thinking a Saturday sometime soon...

I'd have a better chance in running into a Dodo Bird in the middle of rush hour, walking down the I-5 with two hookers in tow before I see a useful post from glock89- Ack-Ack

Well, I used to live in London, and I'm now ten minutes from a train station that takes me to Waterloo in an hour and a half for only thirty pounds. How do you get to Hendon from central London?

(has a look)

Ah, it's Colindale, almost at the very end of the northern line. I think that's why I didn't go there, because it was on the northern line. Waterloo to Colindale involves a journey of fifteen stops on the northern line. Coming back, I would be sozzled. On the northern line. For forty minutes. Damn, if I could get through that I'd be a real man. I shall mull it over (depends on time off work / weekend business).

The Imperial War Museum is easy to get to, and has a few planes - there's a He162 hovering in the main foyer, and the last time I was there they had the Colditz glider, and there are some tanks, and lots of pocket watches, medals, and logbooks etc.
