terrain- more objects?
« on: February 10, 2007, 03:49:53 PM »
Question of curiosity; will we be seeing more/better terrain objects with the new textures?  Has HTC considered allowing folks to submit objects or map tiles just like they submit skins?  That one seems like a  no brainer...  free work done for you can't be a bad thing.  All you need to do is set standards and manage a process.

That is if you exclude the fact that someone would need to place those objects in the terrain, check those objects to make sure they are not a resource hog, and find the means to implement them..

Skuzy did say not long ago that they were looking for some more terrain tiles for the different seasons, and they were open to people submitting them to see if they can be used for main arena maps.

Please use caution when talking about map "Tiles". It's confusing even in the Terrain Editor Forum. The map "Tiles" you speak of are terrain "Textures".

And, yes as mentioned above if you are up to the task I do believe it has been mentioned that HTC is looking for new terrain textures. But, I have avoided that because you or HTC would have to come up with matching objects (trees, buildings, etc.).

Keep in mind that there are currently 11 main textures (4 of which have not appeared on any MA map that I know of yet) with a total of 4 per category. That's a total of 44 textures in a complete set.
