Sometimes kill shooter stinks
« on: February 16, 2007, 11:02:49 AM »
Last night I was rolling on a base with several other folks.  Everyone was getting hammered with bombs by air cons and other tanks, pretty normal right?

The abnormal thing was there was one tank sitting out in the open that never seemed to get hit.  The group spent most of the night and many lives trying to take the base and this one friendly tank just sat there taking in all the action and never had to re-up.  After my 4 trip back to the tower I began to smell a rat.

To bad we can't do anything about situations like that.  I must admit, it's pretty crafty.

Maybe next time I will switch sides for a few and take matters into my own hands...

I've survived many times in a tank while others around me died.

Killshooter is a good thing, prevents :noid  from shooting me.

I was trying to cut off a Zeke last night who was trying to high-tail it back to base to avoid the three or so friendlies closing on the field from the N (I was coming up from the SW, high-deflection) and right as I squeezed off some guy comes zipping in from the left and I end up blowing a big, gaping hole in my wing. No other damage, but still.

Also, I was clearing a friendly's six of an La-5 the other night. Friendly went into a zoom, the La followed, and I zoomed on the La. I fired and started peppering the La, when all the sudden the friendly dragging out the con for me decided he was going to immelmann over the top of the La. The La broke apart, but I couldn't see because he was super-imposed over the friendly I was clearing, and it was low-light conditions, so I continued to fire to make sure he was dead. All the sudden the friendly pops right back into my line of fire, about 400yds out. I only put a half-second of .50cal into him before I let up on the trigger, but that was STILL enough to knock out my engine.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.
