when a player control a TG, can we instead of controling the whole TG,can we have an option of control just one ship for the cost of like....

Battleship-250 perk
those small other ships-100 perk.
and if we ever get a sub-100 perk

apparently, we can't control a cv because ppl would try to t/o from it and the controler would jst keep turning the ship.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

One problem with that. A TG takes all commands from the TG commander i.e. the carrier. Independant ship manuvering within a TG is not a good idea due to the high probability of a ramming. Take a look at real life naval operations and you'll see that a TG moves as a group for this very reason. Besides all those other ships are there for one reason only. To protect the carrier.

Learn to take off from a turning carrier or you have no place being part of a carrier assault. The carrier is more important than you are. Learn to live around it.

That would be great if we HAD a BB (Battleship), instead you have a CA (Cruiser).

.........and regardless of ships and their cost, if you don't turn the CV, it sinks faster than not turning.   My advice to you, learn how to take off from a turning CV by using your rudder.

And the whole TG would travel slower if we had a BB added to it, IIRC.  The Essex class CV's were much faster than most BB's.  Just make the TG a slower, easier target.

Nope, allowing players individually control ships in TG a very bad idea.  The above posts are right, the rest of the ships are there to protect the CV.... since the players usually won't do it.   CV's are very vulnerable in the game... no picket ships, rarely any High, Mid, or Low CAP, short radar range.

How about a totally separate surface group. One with like 4 CAs and 6 DES. They are already in the game.  They could be controlled by a skipper like the CV TG.  They could be sent out on bombardment missions, patrols for other surface groups, or be brought to a CV TG to add defensive fire.

Now this idea I like. One of each from a port. Can you imagine the amount of puffy ack from all that if you had the CV and CA TG's operating together. It would be a frame rate killer but it would still be cool as hell to see.

...and in the future, add real battleships to the non-CV Taskgroups.
