when I was a kid our little league field was right at the end of one of Shaw AFBs runways. It always seemed that a popfly would bring one down to me then, but it wasnt that close as in that vid:confused:

Fun clip.  In the Air Force, I  once got permission to get in the middle  of the runway overrun and photograph a B-52E takeoff.  Had a medium telephoto lens.  Far away, saw the black smoke from water injection on the eight engines, then the 185-foot wings begin to lift up at the tips as it picked up speed.

It got airborne not too close, but the roar even through my ear protectors was overwhelming.  It was like I was engulfed in sound.  Seemed like every molecule in my fluid-filled body wanted to escape.  I wanted to run in every direction at once to get away from that shattering vibration and noise.

Got some good shots, but wouldn't have tried again if I didn't.
