Need help with editor

When i go into the editor, the time of day is night and the stars and moon keep flashing by really fast. I cant get this to stop. And also i can click on airfield setup and it would open, but when i actually put and airfield on the map and go into airfield setup the screen freezes.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

Did you start a new terrain project (File>New)?
