Sprint, yes you are getting old,  :D PIII-900 is just a system name, The CPU is a P3 933 running at ~ 928 Mhz.

Swamp Rat, allready done, plus a clean reinstall of AH, same problem, stange thing is the Beta DX8a ver. works but has the video problems, listed in the DX8 beta forum.

Just for fun try deleting the video.cfg file in the Aces High -> settings directory.  This should force a prompt for video settings on the next startup of AH.

Hi Heater!

Do you use Roger Wilco?
I had the same effect after enabling RW!
I uninstalled RW and everything was OK.
I enabled RW and had the vid screen and crash again.

Just a hint    ;)

i have the same problem. still haven't found the solution yet either.  i tried the RW thing and that didnt work either. i redownloaded it and that didnt work. i'm compleately confused of what it could be. to be honest i didnt have this problem until i got MA subscription. but i dont think that is the problem. and it only happens if i run another program before AH. the only thing that i have found that works it to restart my system and go from there. it works then. if you find a solution, please post it i would greatly appreciate it. thanx

Has anyone tried restalling their video cards, and I don't mean the drivers.  I mean removing it by going to system device manager.

I have a VooDoo3/2000 video card and it has  primary display driver  in the video selection of aceshigh and I have no problem.

Damn, bit by the same thing...just got new HD up and running, latest critical Win98 DL's, along with latest drivers for video(tried various ones for grins), fresh install of AH, etc etc.  But heres the weird thing, I *had* it up and running.  Left for kids swimming lessons, came home and AH would flash white screen, then CTD with no execute.

Found my problem, apparently Win98 decided to just lose all the drivers, reinstalled drivers and AH up once again.

All,
In my case I found the problem, (corrupted DX8a file (d3d8.dll) plus a few other system files), so after a complete OS reinstall, the problem was solved. It took loading the debugger & windows 2000 symbols to find it in the crash dump. but it was worth it.
