Squad and Wingman colors

My buddy and I have formed a two man squad (we hope it will grow..lol) We up often together, where he sees my icon as orange I see his icon as green. This makes it difficult to cover him in a furball. I have set the squadmates color as orange, and wingman as white.
So my question is how does one activate colors on squadmates and wingmen? I know the colors work as I have been on missions where the mission icons are kinda orangy yellow. Our squadron is recognized on the squad list and in the game, but not for my colors..any suggestions folks?

To see your squadmate as orange (the default colour), type Ctrl-S which toggles Squad Highlight on and off.  If you make somebody your wingman with .wingman GameID they will then appear as white.

You can change any of the default colours if you wish by clicking "Setup" on the clipboard, and then "Colors".
