No, we'll be living in the US.  But as her family is in India we are getting married here.  We will be having a reception in the US for my relatives.

Yes, it is a Hindu wedding, which I am told by her is quite boring.  We'll see.  I am handing my camera to her brother so he can take pictures during the event.  I'll share some of them later.  Her family is spoiling me though, it is definately not American here.  ;)

I won't be allowed to see her at all tomorrow and the wedding is on Monday.

I went to a wedding in India a while ago, but it wasn't a traditional Hindu affair as the bride was hindu but the groom was muslim.

I was in Mumbai four days....slept a total of about seven or eight hours.  I didn't think Indians drank that much!  Amazing experience though.

I think that you will be anything but bored; it sounds pretty darn interesting actually.  Will any of your family members make it to the wedding?  I can’t imagine your best man had the time, cash and a passport to fly to India for this… Are you leaning on a brother-in-law for this, or do Hindi weddings have best men?  Where exactly in India are you?  I want to Google earth it.  Have you learned any Hindi, or do enough people there speak English that it’s not a problem?  Could I ask any more questions?

Before my wife and I were married we had an engagement party/luau in Alaska for my friends my parents friends and extended family.  We were married in Ohio which is over 4,000 miles away.  My immediate family, best man and a few friends and relatives from throughout the US mad it to Ohio.  I can’t imagine how much more complicated and restrictive it must be to pull this off in India.

Anyway, thanks for sharing.  This sounds pretty cool and I look forward to the pictures.

Karnak,

Lemme get this straight. You're getting married. Cool. Did you really have to OUTSOURCE the wedding?!?!?!?!?!?!

Karnak, thanks for the comments.
A Hindu wedding? The only experience I had of one was as an extra in a movie. It featured a Hindu wedding scene and the lucky couple stayed sitting on a form of dais with throne like chairs, all night. Meanwhile everyone else danced and sang and drank.  I asked one of the Indian extras, was it authentic and she said it was.

Not a bit like an Irish wedding I can tell you.:D

Good luck and enjoy it.

Oh dear. I actually gave my wife an airplane model.

(She loves it and has it in her office!)
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Congrats to both Karnak and cpxxx.

I have to agree baby ack is far more deadly.  I couldn't get off the ground for almost two years.  The wife ack misses some times and other times can just be evaded.  Baby ack, you're done.  Just when you start to recover they want to sit on your lap just as you're tring to make a shot.

I could go on.....:aok
