Win2K Video Install Problem
« on: January 13, 2002, 07:04:20 PM »
Trying to get a buddy into Aces, had him flying here on my LAN and got him hooked. Joined up while he was here, I burned him a CD with all AH stuff on it, he goes home and installs it and when he gets to the video screen it finds no video card. He is running Win2K Pro , PIII 1000, ASUS MB, all latest MS updates, GeForce 2 Pro 64meg running latest NVidia drivers (23.11), DX 8.1.  I searched the forum and found some other people with the same issue, but no definitive answers. Does anyone KNOW why the video isn't being detected? Should I have him just try and contact someone at Hitech? I'm running XP Pro, exact same video card with 23.11s and 0 problems.

Thanks for any input..

Did he actually try it?  Most of the time AH is only going to see "Default video driver" or something similar.  Just use that.

Yes, nothing shows up in the window at all. Normally its "Primary Display Driver" or similar. He gets nothing.

Is this during the install or running the game? Make sure he is logging in as the Administrator.

Does he have the OK and Cancel buttons? If he does what happens? Does he have an onboard video card and installed a new one? If he wants to contact us he can at support@hitechcreations.com That way we can get some more specs on whats happning.
